Do you have plan where the place you want to visit in Bali, Indonesia? So guys, I seriously recommend you to visit Desa Penglipuran (Penglipuran Village). This place located at Jalan Penglipuran, Kubu, Kec. Bangli, Kab. Bangli, Bali, Indonesia. When I was in Bali, my brother and I stayed in Gianyar, so it close to Penglipuran. For the further, visiting this village is one of my dream because I read lot of information about how wonderful this place from books. So, it was driving me to go to this place and having unforgetable memories.
Desa Penglipuran has lot of things you can explore well-kept village composed of wide, brick roads, lined with rows of charming, antique traditional houses interspersed with neatly manicured gardens. Those are so interesting especially if you go there with guide. The guide will describe lot of thing, such meaning of the village has.
The main thing in this village is about cleanest that radiates the beauty of the village. This is because, here the significance of environmental awareness is part and parcel of daily culture and is taught since early childhood for generations. Both local villagers and tourists are not allowed to throw trash carelessly, while smokers are only allowed to smoke in certain designated smoking areas. As part of the environmental friendly activities, every month all housewives of the village gather to collect and sort the trash. The organic trash will be processed into fertilizers while plastics and other inorganic trash are sold for recycling or collected in a “trash bank”.
Penglipuran is indeed very clean and beautifully set. So it was once named one of the 3 cleanest villages in the world, along with Giethoorn Village in the Netherlands and Mawlynnong Village in Meghalaya, India.
